It was a truly magical place, staff were so friendly, we arrived 2 hours prior to check in and this was not a problem. Reviewed September 6, 2019 via … The breakfast was delicious and plenty to choose from. The palace was owned by the Firmian family until 1837, even after the death of Count Laktanz in 1786. If you prefer to get a taxi it is only about 5-10 minutes. Second time and still a place of reflection n calm . I highly recommend it. With 55 rooms, 12 suites, and two townhouses, the historic palace of Schloss Leopoldskron, birthplace of the Salzburg Festival and a location for the filming of "The Sound of Music", is an exclusive and discreet hideaway just minutes from the center of Salzburg.
