I've been a professional musician for over 30 years, have done many recordings, live recordings and videos. It bothers me when people comment on something that they know little or nothing about. Highly suggest this dvd very good very mellow. But there is no doubt that anyone who sits through this musical journey is not moved into a state of pure pleasure.
Not because she does a bunch of fancy, choreographed dance moves or anything; her presence just shines. We work hard to protect your security and privacy. As fine as the voice is, we can never forget that Sade's backing band are sidemen rather than mere accompanists, and in several of the 18 numbers here we get solos of real virtuosity. Her voice is like silk. As everything was properly "time coded" when it was shot this would not be difficult to do. Highly recommended. But hey, if you like/love Sade to start with? There are many great soulful jazz singers and bands but Sade literally takes my breath away!! Having watched Sade in music videos, back when VH-1 was popular, I ordered SADE LIVE on DVD. --------------------Up until here, my review above was written two months ago after watching this DVD "Sade Live" for the very first time. If you love Sade, you need this video!
Yet somehow, I still don't feel I'm giving this performance enough credit.

This DVD showcases Sade's live performance at San Diego's Open Air Theatre on October 3, 1993. I recommend this DVD to all music lovers as Sade is the essence of magnificence. Sade uses many inflections in her singing and as you can see (there are many good close ups) they're perfectly in sync with her lip movements as are her horn players and her back up singer! This is a DVD to cherish!! From many years ago, but the sound and video quality are excellent. This is one of the best concert videos of all time. Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2019 They are all amazing musicians, Stuart Mathewman on the sax and strings is beyond incredible, Andrew Hale on keys is great, Rick Braun on trumpet is awesome, the entire band is awesome!!
